 | Resale Rights
This is also known as Resell Rights. What it means is that for products that come with resale rights, the original purchaser of the product can sell it and keep 100% of the profit. However, whoever purchases the product from that seller only gets the product, they cannot turn around and sell the product themselves to their customers. They can only use it for personal use. | | Master Resale Rights
Also known as Master Resell Rights, this category gives you the same benefits as Resale Rights PLUS you can also sell the resale rights to your buyer. This means that not only can the original purchaser sell the product and keep 100% of the profits, but anyone who purchases from them can also turn around and sell the product and keep 100% of the profits.
Please Note: Even with the Master Resale Rights to a product, there may be some restrictions as to how you can use the product. For example, the product may note that it cannot be given away, put in a paid membership site, or sold in an auction site. These restrictions are usually detailed at the beginning of the e-book. | | Private Label Rights
Private label rights allow you to make another author's work appear to be yours by changing its content. It can vary from something as simple as writing an introduction paragraph or editing the title to completely modifying it in any way you want including adding your name to it as the creator (with or without the condition that you HAVE to modify the content). Anything allowing you to change the content with the exception of branding an affiliate link is called Private Label Rights.
Note: Obtaining Private Label Rights does NOT automatically mean you also have obtained the copyrights. That's another issue, because copyrights are granted the moment a document, in whatever form, is finished. Also, obtaining Private Label Rights does NOT automatically mean you also have obtained any other right like re-selling or even licensing others to reprint. You will need to read the rights granted very carefully. These are usually included at the beginning of the product or in a Read Me file |
